Scottish artist Allan McEnroe is an emerging self-taught artist. He was born in 1985. Allan is a creative who is deeply influenced by his environment, by the things going on around him. These things; thoughts feelings and activities around him are what he channels into his art as they inform his sensibilities. These things he takes in and then purges out through art.
Allan began to garner attention with his distinct approach to recycled art, an urban, industrial and very original style- his ingenuous use of recycled aluminum cans to create beautiful collages.
The process of creating for Allan is a very meticulous one. Using various tools to create these works, the cans go through a cleaning process first, and then follows a cutting process before they are ready to be used.
After preparing the aluminum cans, I measure and mark pieces according to the shapes and sizes I need for a specific drawing. I usually work in stages, going back to a piece several times until completion. The process can take anything from three hours to several weeks. –Allan.
